PPC Ads and SEO Options

Pay per click advertising took the online world by storm.  When the idea was first released, websites were stepping over each other to learn how to advertise and make it work for them.  While PPC Ads are considered an internet marketing tool, they are also helpful in SEO strategy.  We have a couple of ideas regarding the current structure of ads that might just catapult you into the rankings you need as well as gaining more income from potential buyers.

Pay per click ads are number one links.  They enable you to have a natural and helpful link to your site from other sites as well as the search engines.  There are ways to create issues with PPC Ads in which they will not be so helpful, but let’s not focus on the negative.

The key tip being bandied about right now is getting the right keywords for your ad.  This is especially true with the changes Google and other search engines are making for how they will display results or allow ads to be published.  The ads that generate the highest click through rates are brands.  Consumers see the brand and go “hmm, I might need that.”  Other PPC ads that have great results are the “free shipping” advertisements.

In the SEO world the place you pay to have your ad is going to make all the difference.  There are a couple of places on Google and other search engines that tend to be seen more often.  The top of the page is a great location.  A lot of the time a user will not go down the page of results or the current page they are on unless they need to.  So, you could lose out.  You also want to make sure that your ad is placed on a site that is relevant.

In other words if you can pay to have your baby clothing ad on a media site about babies and all necessary items for babies, chances are you will do better than promoting yourself on a dating site.  Where the ad is placed and can be placed will make a difference for your SEO campaign.

Still the most important aspect of PPC ads when it comes to SEO is the keywords.  You need to entice the user into clicking on the ad.  The PPC ads are only cost effective if you get a sale from the person following the link and then being converted into a buyer.  The words you use will help in this.

The link is also very important.  The link should send the user directly to your site.  Google has changed how things will work a little bit on this front.  They want the display link to be the same as the destination link.  In other words, any area of the ad can be clicked on and take the user to the site or they can click on the actual link in the ad.  Both links need to go directly to your site.
